Students will learn to design a robot, program a robot then battle LIVE with other players. This course is intended for students that just love to build Robots and use software to manipulate them.
The course is 8 classes of one hour long. Participants will learn to use LEGO Digital Designer (LDD) to design their robots EV3 Robot. They will also learn to manipulate and program their creation using the Virtual Robotics Toolkit (VRTK) and EV3 software, just like in the real world. The classes will be taught via Zoom with an instructor that has several years experience working with Robotics and Robot competitions.
After several training sessions, students will participate in Sumobot competitions with final matches on the last day. All participants will receive a Certificate for participating in the class.
All software is FREE to use. LDD can be downloaded HERE for free and we will give each participant instructions and a 60 day license for the VRTK software. The VRTK software can be optionally bought as a year license for $45. See below for information on the VRTK software. Our platform we use for the classes is a combination of Zoom and the classes directly from our friends at Robots Got Talents - see sidebar.
